NSWVGA Medal Competiton

Qualifying round will be the Medal Competition at Tanilba Bay Golf Club on August 19th. The winners and runners-up will be finalists in the NSWVGA Medal Competition.

Finals to be held at the Port Macquarie Golf Club on September 30th and October 1st. Golf, the awards dinner and sausage sizzle will be free of charge to the finalists at Port Macquarie, courtesy of the NSWVGA.

Conditions of Qualifying Round

  1. Individual men and lady stableford plus 4BBB stableford, run in conjunction, starting from two tees from 8.00am on 19/8/19. (The ladies’ individual medal requires a minimum of ten lady starters.)
  2. Open to financial members of the NSWVGA who are also members of a Group 9 VGA.
  3. Entry will cost $25pp covering the golf, medal registration and a barbecue.
    $5 of the the entry fee will be wholly devoted to prize money.
  4. Should an entrant’s score be the highest in both the individual and 4BBB events, the 4BBB only will be counted. A competitor may win only one medal. If a medal winner or runnerup is unable to attend the finals at Port Macquarie, the player and/or the 4BBB pair with the next highest score will qualify as a finalist.
  5. Tied results will be decided by countback.
  6. Privately owned carts are permitted. To book carts phone 49823215.
  7. Registration may be through your Secretary, the Group Secretary (49828787 – bevantec2@bigpond.com;) or any PSVGA committeeman.
  8. In all matters decisions of the PSVGA Management Committee are final.

The Club Championships will be held in October. The more prestigious Pairs Event will be accompanied by a singles event for both men and women.

Port Stephens Week of Golf

There are a few events we need to keep reminding members about. The NSWVGA has ‘week of golf’ events just about every week of the year. The most relevant of these is the Port Stephens Week of Golf in October . There are more details on this event in the events calendar here. NSWVGA Matchplay Championship

Played over four days – 4th-8th November, 2019
at Belmont, Toronto, Muree and Charlestown
A graded event you play all four days.

Port Stephens Inter-Club Challenge

The Port Stephens Inter-Club Challenge started on 24th May. Booking for future events can be made in the first instance by entering your name of the sheets at Horizons Pro Shop.

Played at Nelson Bay (24th May), Pacific Dunes (19th July – re-scheduled due to inclement weather) and Horizons Golf Resort (25th July), the clubs are focused on making this event the major regional inter-club event.  A significant perpetual trophy will be awarded to the winning Club after the three rounds.

The final round was held on Thursday, July 25th at Horizons Golf Resort. Check the final results here.
