Why Golfers Cheat

Lessons from one of our very own

Here’s a book written by one of our very own!

Why Golfers Cheat takes an amused, amusing and original look at golf as it is really played – not by superhuman pros but by you and me and millions like us around the world. We don’t play in tournaments or at high-toned country clubs. We play each other on obscure but inexpensive courses for tiny stakes but priceless bragging rights. We ignore rules that are unfair or just plain stupid. We needle each other without mercy and lose our tempers without shame or regret. And although we’re obsessed with getting better, we probably never will. If that’s the kind of golf you play, this book’s for you.
The author, Russell Felton, is an Australian-born journalist from Newcastle and golf nut who for reasons he can’t explain lives in Canada, where the golf season lasts about five months. He wrote this book in winter. We hope to see him back at Horizons, where he belongs, in 2020.
